With the large amounts of rain we have accumulated over the weekend, the crest height of the Meramec River continues to rise and the Eureka Police Department is looking for urgent help!

The following information is approved by the official local government command post for emergency management in the Eureka Area:
Sandbagging will begin again Monday, May 1st at 9am. If you would like to volunteer please call the Non-Emergency Police line at 636-938-6601 to sign up.
Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes, long pants and weather resistant clothing. Please bring your own Shovel, Gloves and Bottled Water.
Volunteers should be 14 years old (accompanied by an adult if under 16). This is a work zone, so it is not appropriate for small children.
Work will include filling sandbags, loading trucks and placing sandbags at businesses and residences.
Anyone with pickups or flatbed trucks to help transport them are needed also.
