David Bowie Confirms 25th Album Coming Out in January

David Bowie has shared several new details about his next studio album. On Saturday, The Times reported that Blackstar, Bowie’s 25th album, will come out on January 8, 2016–which happens to be Bowie’s 69th birthday. The project’s lead single, also called “Blackstar,” will drop on November 20. A Bowie publicist has also confirmed that Blackstar has nothing to do with Lazarus, Bowie’s upcoming musical stage adaptation of the 1963 novel The Man Who Fell to Earth. The publicist also denied The Times’ claims that Blackstar “may be the oddest work yet” from Bowie, which the rep called “inaccurate reporting on the sound and content of the album.”
