The producers of the hit Broadway show Mamma Mia! announced this week that the production will close on Broadway in September, ending a 14-year run that made the ABBA musical the eighth longest-running show ever on the Great White Way. It was revealed yesterday that the musical, which got its start on the London stage, will close on Broadway on September 5, bringing its total number of shows to 5,765. The show has grossed more than $600 million during its run. In addition to spawning stage productions throughout the world, the musical was also adapted into a hit movie starring Meryl Streep in 2008.
