Of all days to indulge in a sweet treat, may this be your day! And with so many flavors to choose from and so many places to find a slice, (not to mention you can bake your own), cheesecakes are an easy people-pleaser. Here are some great places to celebrate National Cheesecake Day:
Hank’s Cheesecakes, 1063 S Big Bend Blvd. – “The finest cheesecake created this side of Heaven,” is their motto, and one look at their cheesecake creations and you’ll see why. Almond Cappuccino, Banana, Dreamsicle, Eggnog and Peanut Butter Chocolate are a just handful of the flavors they offer. And Hank’s not only bakes dessert cheesecakes, but they also make appetizer cheesecakes in flavors including Mediterranean, Basil Pesto and Sun-Dried Tomato and Spinach. As Hank says, “start and end your meal with cheesecake.”
The Cheesecake Factory, 1062 St. Louis Galleria; 2028 Chesterfield Center, Chesterfield – This restaurant is known not only for its cheesecakes, but also for its HUGE portions. To be able to enjoy their offering of cheesecakes, plan ahead and don’t stuff yourself with the main course. Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Pineapple Upside-Down and Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake are waiting.
The Cheesecake Factory’s website features a countdown to Cheesecake Day, so their customers know – down to the second – when they can start enjoying half-price slices of cheesecake in honor of the national holiday. The special offer continues on Thursday!
Piccione Pastry, in the Loop at 6197 Delmar Blvd. – This pastry shop offers much more for your sweet tooth than its ricotta cheesecake. Pastries, cakes, cookies, cheesecake and of course, cannolis, fall in this Italian family business’s repertoire. And on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m., the Piccione Pastry offers half-price cannolis. Holy cannoli!
