I’ll say it up front, if James Franco is being honest by admitting that he tried to pick up a teenage girl online, then he’s a creep.

If he’s pulling a Joaquin Phoenix type hoax in order to promote his new film, Palo Alto, about an older man in a relationship with a young girl, then he’s still a creep.

Either way, he’s a creep.

And no one seems particularly upset by it, which is odd, because normally, trolling for teenagers on Instagram isn’t really what we expect from our adult movie stars.

And it’s not as if this guy should have any problem meeting people closer to his own age.  I mean, he’s JAMES FRANCO!

He gave an odd explanation/apology in an interview the other day on the “Live! with Kelly and Michael” show which actually raised more questions than it did answers.

At this point, I’m not sure it really matters.

From now on, maybe we can just refer to him as this generation’s Benny Mardones.

“She’s just 16 years old, leave her alone they say….”

(BTW, speaking of creepy,  this may be the single creepiest music video ever made.  And yet, people still love this song!)
