Blues Forward T.J. Oshie Owns The Olympic Games

Greg Hewitt

It took more than a week, but I’ve finally found my hook into the Winter Olympics.

Blues forward T.J.  Oshie was the hero today for the US Olympic Hockey team as they came from behind to defeat the Russian national team, 3-2 in a shootout, at the Winter Games in Sochi.

And if you’re unfamiliar with what a shootout is, read about it here.

It’s pretty exciting, and Oshie (along with goalie, Jonathan Quick)  were the clear cut stars of the game for the U.S. squad.

Oshie also had the quote of the Winter games thus far, when he was asked about what it felt like to be a hero.

“The American heroes are wearing camo. That’s not me.”

So not only is he talented, he’s humble too.

So now, Oshie can be known as Olympic hero AND the guy who laid Rick Nash out twice in two nights back in 2009.

Something tells me he’ll never have to pay for a beer again here in St.Louis, or anywhere else in the USA for that matter.

Well done boys!
