There’s something so deliciously awkward and odd and…well….wonderful about Liza Minnelli.
And that’s the thing. Yes, it’s all a little bizarre, but even her harshest critics would have to concede, through it all, she seems to be having the time of her life!
You have to admire that sort of moxie!
Plus, how many people can you think of that can be identified by their first name?
That’s a star.
Remember, she is an Academy Award winning actress (We can forgive her for “Arthur”) and owner of one of the great voices of her generation.
She’s also still a movie fan and loves Matthew McConaughey’s performance in “Dallas Buyer’s Club
At a luncheon with Academy voters the other day, she gushed, “I haven’t seen a movie like that in so long, and I’m so proud to be able to tell everybody.”
She even went so far as to suggest that if McConaughey doesn’t win the Oscar for Best Actor, she might take matters into her own hands.
“Honey, if you don’t win the Academy Award, I’m giving you mine!” (Liza won Best Actress in 1973 for “Cabaret”.)
Here’s to you Liza!
