How does a someone from Hawaii gear up for the chilly February weather of New Jersey? No, this isn’t the beginning of a terrible joke, it’s a legitimate question for this year’s Super Bowl halftime performer, Bruno Mars.
The Hawaiian crooner — who will take the outdoor stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. for Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2 — said he’s aware that it’s going to be cold out. “Everyone’s putting the fear of God in me like there’s going to be a blizzard,” Mars told the Associated Press (via Billboard). “I’m not going to know until I get there … I’m not trying to hype myself up too much.”
But the singer came up with one way he could possibly keep warm: “I’m going to wear a beekeeper suit, I don’t know.”
Adding, “You know what, it’s awesome. … even if I have to build a chimney onstage, perform around a fire, I’ll do it.”
