Trish’s Trash: New Movies in Theaters this Weekend

New movies in theaters today include the second part of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy. In The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) joins the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and a band of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. On their way, they encounter and must defeat the dragon Smaug, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch. (This makes zero sense to me) Rated PG-13

Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas: The seventh film in the Madea franchise, stars director Tyler Perry in the title role. Madea is convinced by her niece Eileen to pay her daughter a surprise visit in a small, country town. As the town prepares for their annual Christmas Jubilee, relationships are tested and secrets are revealed. Larry the Cable Guy and Chad Michael Murray co-star. Rated PG-13 (video below)

I think everyone is waiting for next week and the openings of Anchorman 2, American Hustle and Saving Mr. Banks!
