Here’s Why The Cards Are Going To Win Tonight
No one is denying that the Cards have a daunting task ahead of them tonight in Boston. Winning any playoff game on the road is a tall order, much less a World Series Game 6 elimination match up.
Actually, I think this plays to our advantage.
Yes, I’m serious.
The way I see it (admittedly through my cardinal red colored glasses) all of the pressure is on Boston tonight. Remember, although they won the World Series in 2004 and 2007, they have not celebrated a Series championship at home at their beloved Fenway Park since….get ready for it—-1918!
Yes, not since the Wilson (Woodrow) administration!
Maybe there’s a reason for this.
Now, I’m not suggesting that Fenway Park may be cursed or anything like that. Far be it for me to even hint of any such thing. I mean, it’s not as if there’s ever been proof of any such thing. It is true, most people thought any “curse” which might have existed was broken when they won the Series in 2004.
It’s just that they didn’t do it at home. At Fenway.
Just something to keep in mind as we get ready for Game 6.
Here’s another—Just remember the last World Series Game 6 the Cardinals were a part of. The situation was eerily similar. The team was down 3-2 in the series and many baseball “experts” were writing them off.
Did the Cardinals quit? Did they give up when they were down to their last strike TWICE? Would hometown product David Freese come through on that chilly October night in St. Louis?
It wasn’t over then….
And it’s not over now.
