Actor James Gandolfini has died from a heart attack while in Italy at the age of 51.
Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino.
James Gandolfini famously portrayed New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano in HBO’s “The Sopranos.”
Gandolfini also appeared in many movies including “Get Shorty,” “The Mexican” and most recently the multi Academy Award nominated, “Zero Dark Thirty.
He even performed on Broadway in 2009 with the Tony Award-winning comedy “God of Carnage.”
