Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars Premiere – Night One
Dancing With The Stars returned last night for their All-Star season.
The thirteen member cast (see list below) all had their moment in the spotlight once again during the two hour premiere, dancing either the cha-cha or the foxtrot for the judges. There’s one little change though, now the judges have more scoring paddles to choose from with the introduction of half points. Or as Bruno Tonioli was saying, “and a hoff.”
While most chose classic costumes and props to create their return to the dance floor, the most colorful performance from last night has to go to Apolo Anton Ohno, who walked away the winner of season four and is looking to do it again. Dressed in an interesting assortment of neon, he and partner Karina Smirnoff took on an LMFAO cha cha by using “Party Rock Anthem” for their performance.
Season 12 favorite Kirstie Alley made one of the more surprising moves of the night by kissing Tom Bergeron for an extended period of time and congratulating him for his Emmy before going to the balcony to hear her score. When asked how she was feeling after her performance the actress replied, “I never thought I’d get to do this again.”
Emmit Smith and his former partner Cheryl Burke were the last to take floor and came away on top with a score of 24.5 out of 30. Len Goodman closed the night’s scoring by saying it was “the last dance of the evening and the best.”
Pamela Anderson and partner Tristan MacManus came away with the lowest score of 17.
Gone but not forgotten, former DWTS contestants were chiming in on what they saw happening on the show last night:
