Academy Of Television Arts & Sciences Presents "From Stand-Up To Sitcom"

Legendary, groundbreaking comedian, Phyllis Diller has passed away at the age of 95.

She was one of the first female stand up comedy superstars.  In 1961 she moved to Webster Groves, Missouri and often appeared at Gaslight Square’s Crystal Palace.  Soon after,  she made numerous appearances on the “Ed Sullivan Show,”  TV specials with Bob Hope and “Roman and Martin’s Laugh-In.”

Her self deprecating humor about her looks, hair, crazy mother-in-law and an imaginary husband named “Fang” made her a favorite for decades.
