This Fourth of July, Jennifer Hudson knows what she’ll be doing: performing with the Boston Pops Orchestra.
Hudson will tackle the biggest hits from her two albums, 2006’s Jennifer Hudson and last year’s I Remember Me, with the orchestra for the 39th Annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The free outdoor concert will air live on CBS.
After enduring the recent trial of William Balfour, who was found guilty of killing Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew in 2008, the singer has been laying low with her fiancé, David Otunga. But the ex-Idol announced last week she will be heading back to the big screen in the new film, Lullaby. The dramedy, which also stars Terrence Howard and Amy Adams, is scheduled to start shooting in New York next month.
Most recently Hudson could be seen in The Three Stooges, but is best known for her Oscar-winning role as Effie in Dreamgirls, which also starred Beyoncé.
