In the ever-evolving battle of the bulge, we’re likely to try just about any diet, workout or eating tips to help keep our weight under control and loose those few extra pounds. If you keep a watchful eye on the amount of calories you consume with each meal, try these four sneaky eating tricks that work to help make you feel full and cut out those unnecessary calories!

1. Sip on water before meals: Research has shown that if you drink two cups of water before each meal, it will leave you feeling more satisfied and help you eat less. You’ll start feeling a little extra room in your jeans in no time with this trick!

2. Eat soup: Snacking on low-calorie, broth-based soups like miso or chicken noodle before a big meal does just about the same as water, it helps you eat smaller portions and leaves your hunger satisfied!

3. Blot pizza grease: If you can’t resist the cheesy, greasy favorite, try blotting off all grease dripping off the top of the pizza. According to Prevention magazine, this practice can cut out as much as 40 calories 4.5 grams of fat for every two slices of pizza!

4. Seltzer up: When going out for drinks with your friends, the calories lurking in those alcoholic drinks can really add up over the course of the night. A little known trick that’s found to help cut the calories of adult beverages is sipping on seltzer with a squeeze of lime, which helps eliminate the amount of calories you take in!
