[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry [/lastfm]has broken a new record held by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ace Of Base [/lastfm]for many years on the Billboard charts!! She’s had so many hits out in the past year that she now holds an awesome Billboard crown.

Perry has broken the Billboard record for longest in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 List. She has spent the entire past year in the Top 10 on the chart with several of her singles. It started with “California Gurls” in May of 2010 and she is still hanging in the Top 10 this week with “E.T.” That’s gotta be nice on the bank account.

Ace of Base only held in the Top 10 for 48 weeks. This will be Perry’s 52 week in the Top 10 and she is about to relase a new summer anthem called “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)”. “California Gurls,” debuted at #2 on May 29, 2010. The song spent six weeks at #1. Before “Gurls” fell out of the top 10, her follow-up, “Teenage Dream,” joined it there in August before also ascending to #1. Then, in November, her next single, “Firework,” moved into the top 10 just as “Teenage Dream” exited. Now “E.T.” just dropped out of the #1 spot and hangs at #2 on the chart.

So proud of my future ex-wife!! LOVE YA KATY!!
