This morning, silver-screen goddess, infinitely talented actress, and perpetual icon of glamor, Elizabeth Taylor, died at the age of seventy-nine from complications caused by her ongoing battle with congestive heart failure. Just like in her illustrious life, Taylor was surrounded by family, including her four children, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Even in the face of illness, Taylor was a sublime representation of elegance and grace personified. Her natural dark-featured beauty highlighted by her rare violet-tinged eyes made her a model for beauty, while her passion-infused performances and her wide-eyed subtlety made her both a believable and effervescent actress.
