Remember American Idol season 7 winner [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Cook[/lastfm]? We just found out what he’s been up to and when you’ll be able to hear his latest music.

It’s always a good news day when you hear about American Idol winners working. I should be more specific…making music as the case with season 7 winner [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Cook[/lastfm].  Cook has re-made the 80’s [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Simple Minds[/lastfm] classic Don’t You Forget About Me for the elimination song to season 10.

Simon Fuller, the show’s creator, selected the song not only because it was a monster hit in 1985, but possibly as to tell us something:

Hey, Don’t forget about these kids who kinda sucked because there will be a summer tour we’d like you to support to hear more sucky music.

For the super Cook fans, you can get the song for FREE off his website DavidCookOfficial.com. Expect his sophomore CD later this year.

You’re saying demeaning things about Idol singers in an article that’s supposed to be positive for David Cook, who was…..wait for it…a winner on Idol. It’s like saying AI singers suck, well except for this one. Obviously, David is an amazing singer and hopefully your comments won’t take away from what the message in this article is supposed to be…..that this amazing singer, David Cook, is doing a fantastic song for the AI elimination song. And just b/c someone’s being eliminated doesn’t mean they “suck”, just means you can’t have 12 winners.
