[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Meat Loaf[/lastfm] feels very strongly about Steven Tyler’s role as a judge on American Idol, and let it be known in a recent interview.
The 63-year-old singer/songwriter had a chat with USA Today about his upcoming TV roles, and the topic of American Idol and new judge Steven Tyler eventually came up.
Meat Loaf admitted that it pains him to see a rock & roll singer like Tyler judging aspiring pop singers on a reality show.
“I think Steven is one of the great rock vocalists of all time,” he said. “I have so much respect for him…There’s just something about me that says, ‘I love Steven but I don’t want to see him on American Idol. I just don’t.'”
Is Meat Loaf showing us a veiled loss of respect for the Aerosmith frontman? Or can he just not stand to see a rocker on a pop show? Let us know what you think of Meat Loaf’s remarks in the comments below.
