In an interview with Rolling Stone last week, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hootie & the Blowfish[/lastfm] frontman Darius Rucker said that he considers the band’s 1994 single “Let Her Cry” to be the first country song that he ever wrote…

The recently turned country solo artist stated that, “I consider this the first country song I ever wrote. It shows that what I’m doing now is really not that far from what I was doing before.”

Rucker also assured loyal Hootie & the Blowfish fans that they will see the band touring together once again sometime in the future.

Rolling Stone has more on that, plus footage of Rucker performing songs from his debut solo album, and a few Hootie & the Blowfish favorites.
